Some of the most exceptional private gardens in England and Wales… and Willoughby Road Allotments… will be open to the public as part of the National Garden Scheme open for charity event.

Gardeners will welcome all visitors to the allotment site in Boston from 10.30am to 4pm on Saturday, May 18. Admission will be £3.50 for adults, children get in free, and there will be seeds and plants for sale and refreshments available. There is wheelchair access.

More than 3,500 gardens, from tiny cottage gardens to grand estates, will be open raising funds for nursing and health charities.

Find an open garden near you at https://www.ngs.org.uk/find-a-garden/ or visit the five-acre allotment site and meet some of those who tend the 60 plots growing fruit, veg, flowers and herbs. There is a small orchard, a wild flower area and a community space with a kitchen and toilet which also caters for visitors who are disabled.

The allotments will also be open on August 18 from 10.30am to 4pm.
