The 2020/2021 Hakusan City Exchange is shaping up nicely, with twelve students from Boston Grammar, Giles Academy and the Boston High School working hard raising funds for the trip to Japan in 2021. Understandably, we are all watching developments globally and hope that both the Tokyo Olympics and visit to the UK by the twelve Japanese students will go ahead as planned during 2020/2021.
Various fundraising events have recently taken place for which we sincerely thank all of our supporters, local business sponsors and attendees at our events. In particular we would like to thank Hutsons, Boston Sausage, TB Howsam, Slimming World Boston, Lincs Veterinary Solutions, Dexter and Sharpe, Phoenix IT Solutions and HG Tunnard. Out gratitude too to Fryday’s for organising Supper at our November Race Night.
We are holding a monthly bonus ball draw and are delighted to announce the lucky winner of the February 2020 draw was Tammy Ogden, seen here collecting her £100 prize from parent Chris Collins.
A further highly successful Race Night took place on Friday 13th March at the Conservative Club in Boston, where all enjoyed the nine races and Fish’n’Chip supper. The final auction race raised almost £200 and by chance was won by Hakusan City Exchange Co-Chair Steve Jacobs as owner of horse number seven who received the winners hamper from parent and race night organiser Kevin Joyce, supported by other parents and students on the evening.
Thank you also to those that attended the Stickney Bingo on Saturday 14th March, organised by parent Rachael Stones with support from other group members, with a range of prizes and refreshments on offer.
Finally, a thank you to Boston High School for allowing the Hakusan City Exchange to have a stand at the recent year 7 parent evening (as pictured), giving parents and students the opportunity to hear more about the educational exchange programme should they be interested in being considered for the 2022/2023 exchange which will be open to school year groups 8 and 9 when the time comes. If anyone has any questions on the exchange programme and would like to find out more regarding future events, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
