Chapel & Other Facilities
The chapel and other facilities
The comfortable chapel provides seating for approximately 80 mourners with additional standing room for larger congregations, and is provided for use by all faiths or non-religious groups as appropriate.
The music played during funeral services is delivered through a high quality digital system and virtually any requested piece can be sourced and played providing it is still commercially available. Please note that the crematorium will not accept any external digital media to play such as USB, CDs, tapes or vinyl. All music and visual content is ordered in advance and received via our media partner to protect the system and allow for necessary scheduling and checking. For details please visit our partner website using the link on the right. If live music is required there is an organ available for use, however an organist must be provided by either the funeral director or the family.
Located in the chapel is a large screen to play multi-media tributes. This might be a piece of video, still photographs or rolling slide show etc, and can be set with or without music. We also have the facility to webcast funeral services to other locations around the world using live streaming if required, so that relatives and friends who are unable to get to the funeral service can take part. Should you request these facilities it is important to note that this must be ordered at least 48 hours prior to the funeral service.
There is an induction loop facility fitted in the chapel to enable users of hearing aids to listen to the service more clearly. The speaker system extends to the foyer and outside of the building so that the service can be relayed to mourners if the congregation is extra large.
Ministers or family members taking a service can make use of the vestry to prepare themselves beforehand.
Visitors may bring flowers to place in the chapel at any time that we are open and (vases are provided) or you may sit in quiet reflection or prayer, provided that a funeral service is not taking place. We regret that personal vases and artificial tributes are not permitted.
