Our parks and ground maintenance team are responsible for managing 11 playgrounds in the Borough.

Central Park:

Established in the Victoria times, Central Park is in the heart of the town centre.

The park is a great place to visit. It has numerous facilities for all ages to enjoy. It is especially popular throughout the summer months and is often used by families for an afternoon out in the sunshine. Our facilities include:

  • Bird aviaries
  • Wildlife garden
  • Flower and shrub beds
  • Victorian garden
  • Outdoor gym equipment
  • Basketball hoops
  • Football goal posts
  • Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA)
  • Play area (including wheelchair swing and wheelchair roundabout)
  • Community growing space (fruit and vegetables)
  • Picnic benches
  • Refreshment kiosk
  • Toilets (20p charge)
  • Litter-picked daily

 

Boston Central Park Closing Times

In a Boston Town Area Committee (BTAC) meeting held on May 20th, the committee agreed to closing Central Park from dusk until dawn from Monday 6th September 2021 for a one-year trial period, in order to reduce noise and anti-social behaviour incidents taking place over night. The confirmed closing times are:

Autumn – 05:30 to 20:00 – 6th September 2021 to 20th December 2021
Winter – 05:30 to 18:00 – 21st December 2021 to 20th March 2022
Spring – 05:30 to 20:00 – 21st March 2022 to 21st June 2022
Summer – 05:30 to 22:00 – 22nd June 2022 to 5th September 2022
